Get Yourself In Shape

You don’t have to become a fitness pro in order to get pregnant, but studies have shown that women who are not overweight or underweight have a far easier time conceiving. Best to keep track of your weight with what is known as BMI (body mass index)– normal weight is the range of 18.5 to 24.9. You can calculate your BMI ==>> here.

Say No To Caffeine!

Caffeine has been shown to affect your body’s absorption of iron. It can also lead to stillbirth. Cut down on tea, coffee or cola drinks if you want to increase your chances for getting pregnant. May women switch to milk shakes, which provides your body with calcium).

Forget Smoking! Forget Alcohol! Say No To Drugs!

Smoking yields lower sperm counts and can also have a negative impact on a woman’s fertility, reducing the potential for pregnancy. Studies have been conducted on second-hand smoke and found that even second-hand smoke can have a negative effect on fertility. Studies have also concluded that smoke, alcohol and drugs can lead to miscarriages and birth defects.

Get To Know Your Menstrual Cycle

The best time to get pregnant is when you are ovulating. Be aware of the signs of ovulation and when they occur within your menstrual cycle! Most commonly, women monitor the mucous discharge that takes place during ovulation. The first such discharges are moist and/ or sticky– white or cream in color. If you try to stretch the discharge, it will break easily. During this time, there is some chance of getting pregnant.

A high chance of pregnancy is when the mucous discharge is the thinnest, a bit later in your cycle. At this stage, the discharge resembles egg whiles and will stretch a few centimeters before breaking. Sometimes it will not break at all. What yields the higher chance of pregnancy is that sperm can survive for up to 72 hours within cervical mucous that is at this stage.

Expect The Unexpected!

Some studies have shown that men who eat soy products have a lower sperm concentration. Now are you ready for this one? According to the journal Fertility and Sterility, men who keep their phone close to their testicles can experience impaired sperm quality.

Don’t Overdo Sex! Skip A Day Or Two!

Repeated ejaculations in men can and do lower the sperm count. Every other night during ovulation is recommended by experts.

Adopt A Positive Frame Of Mind

Stress and depression can have a very negative impact on ovulation, thereby greatly reducing your chances of getting pregnant– and it can certainly lead to sexual dysfunction in men. Activities which reduce stress are recommended, include positive affirmations and yoga– if that’s what it takes.

Now in my next post, we’re going to have a look at a resource that is recognized as the authority bible for knowledge about getting pregnant even when all else has failed! I’ll post a video about it and offer a few words.
